Free WooCommerce product CSV templates
Start with clean, UTF-8 examples instead of guessing at column names. Download a simple-product or variable-product template, replace the draft sample rows, and check the file before importing.

Both files use headings and values from WooCommerce’s current core product CSV schema. They contain example data—not a complete catalog—and can be edited in a spreadsheet application that preserves UTF-8 CSV formatting.
Get both templates, the pre-import checklist, a broken practice file, and the quick-start guide together in the free Gumroad starter kit.

Includes SKU, name, visibility, descriptions, tax status, stock, prices, categories, tags, and an image field.

Shows a variable parent, unique variation SKUs, a Parent reference, and matching Size attribute values.
Download variable templateHow to use the simple-product template
Replace every example value rather than adding live products underneath the samples. Keep each SKU unique. Use a period as the decimal separator for prices, and use 1 or 0 for boolean fields. Set Published to1 only when the row is ready to go live; -1 creates a draft.
How the variable-product template works
The first row is a variable parent with SKU TSHIRT. Each variation row has its own SKU and uses TSHIRT in the Parent column. The parent lists all Size values, while each variation uses one matching value.
Type → variable for the parent, variation for each child.
SKU → unique on every row.
Parent → the parent SKU or an existing ID written as id:100.
Import the edited template
In WordPress, go to Products → All Products → Import. Upload the saved CSV, review every mapping, and run a small test first. WooCommerce recommends not refreshing or navigating away while the importer is running.
Check the file before WooCommerce sees it
Spreadsheet edits can introduce duplicate SKUs, shifted columns, regional semicolon delimiters, invalid boolean values, or broken variation links. Use the free FeedFixer scanner before import to catch those problems locally without uploading the catalog.
